| Objectives and Features of AHAMAHAMIKA Contests: |
| 1. The only objective of the contest is to encourage the children to read good books and make it as their regular habit. 2. The books for AHAMAHAMIKA contests will be (a) Oriental classics (b) Books on Indian heritage, culture and history (c ) Biographies of great men (d) Motivating and thought to provoke books (e) Scientific and books of literary value and (f) Any other books, the Forum finds worth reading by the children. Standard of the Language, Size, Cost, and Availability of the book will also be considered while selecting the Book. 3. Books focussed towards particular Religion/ Sect will not be preferred. 4. The announcement time given for the Contest will be minimum of 20 days. The contest is a written examination of 40 to 50 questions with only TWO answer choices. The wrong answer carries negative mark. Duration of exam will be one hour. Qualifying marks will be decided by Forum. 5. The contest is not aimed at assessing the abilities or mental prowess of the children. The AHAMAHAMIKA forum hence does not appreciate the teachers giving any special coaching for children to face the contests. The question papers will be set in such a way that the children who actually read the book seriously only can answer well. |
